#LittlePenangOnTheTerrace

Awesome team lunch @Little Penang on The Terrace

Feeling nostalgic to visit one of our favourite spots over The Terrace.

Last time it was Nick’s farewell lunch with Ashan, Nick and Matt still there. And this is first time here with Apurva, Mike and Jim. 🍲🍛🥘🥗☕

#ThaiChef’sRestaurant

Enjoying the lunch @Thai Chef’s Restaurant

This turns out to be the best Thai restaurant we have been to in Wellington and we both agreed on it. Delicious food, great interior and well-timed service. Plus we got window place to enjoy the view outside.

Missing Stephen and we have decided to share our pic with him later. Pity he couldn’t be at this amazing restaurant. It has become our favourite Thai restaurant in Wellington. 🥗🍲🥘 🍍

#SaltCafé

Visiting after long time @Salt Café

Catching up to build a new relation. Enjoying time together and there is so much to learn.

Feeling awesome to meet familiar faces including those at café and recalling old memories – there was mention of Alan and Quinn.

#LittlePenang

Enjoying Malaysian delicacies @Little Penang

This is the first dinner in Wellington after returning from vacations and also the first one without Stephen. Thankfully Jose didn’t go anywhere and so was our pack. Had a great time catching up on everything.

This restaurant chain offers vegetarian version of Nasi Lemak which is not very common and they make a delicious one – biggest reason I like visiting restaurants in this chain.

Why I love Nasi Lemak? Short answer is beautiful memories. It brings them back those memories, reminding of an awesome colleague from Malaysia I worked with who was very picky about Nasi Lemak. 🍲🥘🥗🍛🌃

#Missing

Just when you think life has given enough shocks, there is one more left for you in a corner!

This was the last pic of team I had before many faces disappeared from the office and that was the latest shock I had this morning.

Today morning, missing from this pic are Stephen, Kaushalya, Kieran and Greame –

As if that already was not strong enough, couple of others were going to disappear in coming weeks.

Talk of being excited to return after the vacations!

Tere mere pyar da gawah milda
Ajj kal kothe utte kalla chan milda

Char din zindagi de saukhe langh jaane si
Sajna je sanu sadi gall mann milda

#Shocked

Life is short.

Today I was shocked to learn that Rajat, one of dear and very first friends I made at Gurgaon during my initial stay, had passed away.

Gurgaon is the city I lived at for the longest time after my hometown and it is because of very few people like him whom I call friends that I was able to survive there.

It is the same friend who introduced me to Rajat, shared the news today.

Rajat is perhaps the only person whom I always noticed smiling, calm and appearing like he is going to say something funny right away. I never saw him hurt, depressed or angry at anyone throughout all the years we spent as friends.

By the time I was moving out of Gurgaon, we already had started losing touch but not the friendship. So whenever we met, it felt like we had met moments ago and that feeling was mutual. It is hard to make such friends and his friendship was no less than a treasure.

Will always miss you, Rajat.

#Sewing

What are the chances that you get up in the morning at the right time.

Just when you are about to dress up, you find out that one button at a key position in your shirt has gone missing.

Then when you open the sewing kit provided by the hotel, the only needle in it is broken. You request for another kit from the reception.

Now on starting with the new sewing kit, you break the new needle while unstiching the additional button from the shirt.

In this embarrassing moment, you have to request another sewing kit and you are provided with additional 4 kits this time.

Finally you get to fix the button to resume your day which was stuck all this time.

Cannot explain how thankful I feel for learning these life saving skills like sewing early in my life, and of course, thanks also goes to the person who came up with the concept of additional button for a shirt.

Lesson learned – always make sure to have an additional button on a shirt. Even better, carry an additional shirt.
